160th Anniversary
160th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Stevens
On July 13, 2024, the Alliance to Preserve the Civil War Defenses commemorated the 160th Battle of Fort Stevens, the Union victory that saved the Nation’s Capital. In our big tent, we presented a great lineup of historian speakers and Civil War period music, while in the Fort field and adjacent gym, there were a host of activities to celebrate the diversity of DC Civil War experiences.
