On July 13, 2024, the Alliance to Preserve the Civil War Defenses commemorated the 160th Battle of Fort Stevens, the Union victory that saved the Nation’s Capital. In our big tent, we presented a great lineup of historian speakers and Civil War period music, while in the Fort field and adjacent gym, there were a host of activities to celebrate the diversity of DC Civil War experiences. A special thanks to the National Park Service and all of the volunteers and reenactors who helped make this a special day. Here are some videos and photos of the day.
